A new Golspie Backyard Ultramarathon takes place on November 4, 2023. Golspie is a town in Sutherland, in the north of Scotland.
Runners in the backyard ultra must complete a 4-mile, 880-foot loop (ie 4,167 miles) in one hour, or they run out of time. Each runner must start on time, every hour, until he can run no more or time runs out.
The race starts at 10 am sharp and continues until the last person is still running.
The rules dictate that there can be no support from runners or the use of posts.
The new Golspie event is eager to hear from volunteers who can help with the challenge.
There are 100 spaces (80 currently remaining) and a cost of £50 to enter. All money after expenses will go to Highlands and Islands Blood Bikes.

What is a backyard ultra?
backyard ultra’s roots are the desire to host a fun event with limited space and resources. now there are many backyard ultras world.
The goal is to pursue your own personal goals. You must run a certain distance (4 miles and 880 feet) every hour and every hour for 12 or 24 hours. Each participant has to be at the start on time, every hour until they decide that it is enough or time runs out in the course. There is a 3, 2, 1 minute warning before each lap starts.
